Heart disease is Hong knog's second largest killer of common disease,people may end up their life quickly if they cannot receive proper treatments,especially children,who originally enjoying their brilliant childhood,once they suffer from heart disease,their life will be full of darkness and it is even a telling setback to them and their family.

The objectives of this foudation is to enhance people's awareness of heart disease, provide financial and psychological support to families with children who suffer from heart disease,moreover,to investigate treatments in order to heal heart disease.
Every second,there are many children who died from heart disease and its complications,we can see that this problem should be highly concerned. Our little offer and support might bring them hope. Children's Cancer Foundation beliefs every child with cancer will have a fighting chance for their life. And it is the support of family no longer has to face alone. They assist to upgrade equipment and services in pediatric oncology of the major public hospitals in Hong Kong and help doctors improve the survival rate of child cancer patients.

Due to new technology and breakthroughs in cancer treatment, survival rates are higher than ever. So childhood cancer does not always end in death. Children's Cancer Foundation is trying to enhance the quality of life of all children suffering from cancer, in caring for their physical, psychological and social well-being.
They have some publications such as books, booklets, leaflets, newsletter, video documentaries and TV advertisements. They hold some fund-raising Campaigns during the year. And it is shown that they need our support to donate money for them. It will be able to help the whole family in the fight against childhood cancer. These donations will help them to have better treatment facilities, more comprehensive psychosocial services and more research.

Their belief is “to promote kindness and to prevent or suppress cruelty to animals.” As animals just like human, they will feel pain, hungry, and thirsty.
They will Investigate the complaints of the cruelty, accept the unwanted pets, provide a desexing for dogs and cats, to help the unwanted pets to find master, provide basic veterinary care, treatment of disease or some major surgery also to educate people to be responsible pet owner and some animal welfare issues.
How do they raise awareness of this social problem?
They are promoting to love the animals, to protect their health and welfare through education and make people live with the animals harmony.

There is a "Monthly donation campaign" to help the animal that are in need and to provide food, toys, veterinary care, kennels, and to take care the animal ect.

The WWF (World Wide Fund) is a global environmental friendly organization. Its aim is to create a future life with harmony between human and animals. It is a organization that is not for profit. The WWF did a lot of things to complete the aim, such as conservation, education etc. This organization did a lot of promotion, seminars to teach us how to be environmental friendly. If they teach more to the children nowadays, they mostly will follow what they should do to be environmental friendly and protect animals. There were a lot of offices of WWF in Hong Kong, we can go there and learn more about global warming, endangered animals and donate to the WWF for helping animals.

World Wild Fund for Nature(WWF)is a charity which is about conservation, they wants everyone in the world to be conservation. This charity is everywhere in other countries not only in Hong Kong. it was formed in 1961, it formed already 50 years to now.
ReplyDeleteThe problems that they were trying to solve was to let everybody in the world to be conservation. Also they are trying to protect the environment for us and the animals to let us have a good living place. It is because now people are not conserve and always destroy the environment.
They are trying to make different activities to support people to be conservation and protect the environment now. Like making some talks to the primary and secondary school students or to appeal everyone to drive less to make carbon less for the environment. They are now still making different activities for everyone to having the same thinking with the charity.
We can do a lot of things to support this charity. We can drive less and take the public transportation, we may also use less plastic bag and use the recycle bag or other environment-friendly product. We should always recycle the things after we use it.
More young people like children are more likely to suffering form the heart disease. SPCA, is a society to protect the animals In Hong Kong. Nowadays, people in Hong Kong, some people doesn’t care are animals life’s, They always cruel the animals in different ways. So the SPCA is to prevent this thing happen.
ReplyDeleteAnimals are like humans, they can feel pain and hunger and humans just cruel the animals. Humans are too selfish they didn’t care about the animals feeling. For example eating shark fins, have anyone think about the process of getting the shark fins? It’s very horrible! The SPCA said don’t eat shark fins, if we keep on eating shark fins, after 100 years there will be no Sharks in the earth.
To support this charity, some shops have a charity box of the SPCA, we could put some money to help the poor animals, and our money can help them. Or we can join some activities that are held by the society for example’’ Animal Sponsorship Programme (by SPCA)’’ This programme can help the animals that were healthy but were thrown away by their owner’s. So in this programme we could adopt a pet form the SPCA, and help the animals. I think this programme have helped a lot. If the animals we not adopted or not in the SPCA centre, maybe they will be killed.

I want to tell you one of the charities in Hong Kong, World Vision. It is a big charity. Everyone knows that they did many things for the children, poor people, sick people… These are just some basic things that they did before. I want to tell you other things that they did.
ReplyDeleteWorld Vision is a charity, but they are not that simple charity. World Vision is a Christian organization. They help people in world, all of them. They won’t help only rich people, white people, girls… They think like the god thinks. They think all the people are fair. All of us are one of the members of god’s great family. Therefore, they are also trying to promo the Christian to the people in world, “We are god sons and daughters”.
They help people all over the world. Help them for studying, for planting, for healing… all of the things that you can think of, they must do or at least try to do.
For now, they have the work for Chinese poor people, hungry people… they want to get volunteers for work in different places. They can’t find people for doing this job because it is have hard and need many people to do. Therefore, they can’t do by themselves. We need to help others.
For their income, they also need people to give them. They can’t earn money by themselves, and give to others. Therefore, they always got different dough by people give more and less. They try their best to keep the workers’ salaries.
If you want to help people, you can be the volunteers of them. However, you should have enough money for your basic life. If not, you can be the workers of World Vision. Although the salaries must not be very high, it can help people and also work for you! Just like giving them money, and you can help people. Just you need to work harder.
SPCA is a charity, and they help animals to get benefit, they promote not mistreat animals, they also help to save animals when animals are in trouble. They produce twenty- four hours standby services. In their website, they have two link of stop mistreat animals. One is shark, people kill shark because they want to get their shark fin, I think the method that people kill sharks is really ruthless, they cut their fin and put them back in the sea, then the shark will non-stop bleeding and died, so STOP EATING shark fin!! The second one is talking about killing seal, people get their skin after the seal was died. The method is also cruel. People use a hakapik (this is a name that they called the stick that kills seal) and beat the seal and again the seal will non-stop bleeding and died. So of the people will just get the skin when the seal is alive, I think the pain that the seal feel is the pain we can’t feel, so STOP KILLING seal. I love this charity is because they can give such a good promoting, I think animals are people friend and they are also living things, they have their live so why we can help them to decide their death? We can support SPCA by three ways; one is donating, second, being a volunteer. Last, stop mistreating animals.

The beliefs of Children's Heart Foundation are to help people increase their knowledge about heart diseases, help the parents of children who have heart disease in different ways/aspects, like economic, psychological, knowledge.
And Children's Heart Foundation always tries to raise money so to use in different services, like to buy different kind of new tools to help the quality of operation of heart diseases, to have interflow of medical science with different doctors, and provide a good environment for the parents and children who have heart disease to live in, and talk... etc.
This year, Children's Heart Foundation hold different kinds of activities, for example, exhibition of the health of Children heart 2010 and charity walk, to attack people’s attention on Children’s heart disease and to raise money for charity.

ReplyDeleteThey believe many a little makes a mickle. So they always encourage people to donate money. But the amount is not the most important.
This charity is not trying to solve the problem in Hong Kong directly. In 1960s, Hong Kong has lots of problem, but charities at that time not only responsible to provide services, but to raise funds. So it makes their work become harder. So some of the people want to help them to raise funds, so it can help the services in Hong Kong can become better. So this charity is going to solve many different kinds of social issue in Hong Kong.
In order to raise awareness of these social problems, they will play some shows in different TV stations. In these shows, they will show some real stories to us. So that we can know the social problems in Hong Kong.
In order to raise funds, they will always hold some activities. Other than some old activities, they will also hold many new activities. For example, 2010/2011 Hong Kong and Kowloon Walk, HK$10 Uncut Note Set, Laisee for the Chest, Christmas Greetings for the Chest 2010 , Love Teeth Day 2010, The Community Chest Corporate Challenge 2011, The Community Chest Flag Day 2010 and 2010/2011 New Territories Walk.
The simplest way to support this charity is to donate money. As it is the main responsibility of this charity. Other then this, we can join their activities actively. Also, we can encourage our friend to donate money or join the activities together.

Today I would like to introduce one popular charity in Hong Kong—Hong Kong Red Cross.
ReplyDeleteHong Kong Red Cross is a organization which help to protect the human lives. Their missions are “protect human life”, “care for the health of the vulnerable”, “respect human dignity”. Also, their beliefs are to give the voluntary hands to the weak people and save their lives.
In the 21st Century, although the society has become stronger and stronger, discrimination is still a serious problem around the world. Such in Hong Kong, some citizens who come from other countries especially the disable people and the people with other skin colours, they can’t easily find jobs as they have been discriminated by others. Because of this reason, Hong Kong Red Cross also promotes that the world should become fair so they would provide the same quality services to the people around the world.
In order to achieve their missions and beliefs. Hong Kong Red Cross organizes many activities and provides many services. For example, they organize some courses for people to learn first aid so that they may save others after. Moreover, in this world, there are many emergencies that some injured people need blood to save their lives, but there is not enough blood. As a result, Hong Kong Red Cross encourages the citizens to donate their blood for them. What’s more, they have some competitions and promotion day to tell others their goals and hope that more and more humans will help to save others.
If we want to support the Hong Kong Red Cross, we can donate some money for their works. But of course, I think the best way to support them is to give our helping hands to others more often!

ReplyDeleteThe full name of SPCA is The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to animals. Their main jobs are helping abandoned animals to find their new master, accept the abandon pets from their master and taking pets to hospital to save them.
They tried to help animals by teaching, something they will give out some activity to teach people not to abandon their pets or think whether you can take care of the pet before get them to home. This can make the number of abandoned pets decrease a lot.
One time, I joined a activity of them, the activity is all about give some money to them, so they can use the money to help the pets and we can get a chance to walk on the dam in Tai Mei Tok. I think that is very meaningful because I met much different kind of animals there and I pay a little part to help pets.
Pets need to be help, but we cannot help them alone, the SPCA helps us a lot to give support to the helpless animals. The best way to give support to them is to donate money to them. Therefore this charity can keep giving support to animals no matter the animals are going to be distinguish or being abandoned.

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals which is a charity for helping and saving animals. It has formed since 1903. It made up by a several of volunteers. Although the money from government was very little, they will continue to work.
ReplyDeleteAnimals also like human. They can feel pain and hunger. SPCA’s belief is to tell people to love and care animals and do not let them get hurt by crucifying. They hope they can make a community which people can live with animals peacefully.
SPCA are trying to help animals which were homeless, got hurt, being desert….etc. They help animals to find a suitable home. And to give cheap sterilization operation services for cats and dogs. As prevent animals give birth then no one want the baby animals. Then, they will check the crucified animals’ report. They may try their best to provide the hospital services which include treating, even some surgical operation.
SPCA has just held a photo campaign, “Me and My Pet in Wanchai”. It separated into three types include, “Wanchai Landmark Camera Category”, “Wanchai Landmark Mobile Phone Category” and “Indoor Mobile Phone Category”. People needed to take a photo of his/her pets and then send it to SPCA.
We can donate to SPCA for a help. Or even we can be the volunteers to take care the animals for help. But I think the most important help is not to hurt the animals.

ReplyDeleteHelping Hand is a charity that mostly works with some elderly. Their objective is to help to solve the problems that elderly usually face. For example, help in housing, caring them etc. They will also arrange some activity or talk to let others know more about elderly to raise the aware of the society and to invite more volunteers to join in helping elderly.
Some of the primary schools and secondary school also let the students to go to the elderly Care Home of Helping Hand to let them learn more about caring elderly. Also, the students can give some entertainment to the elderly to let the elderly become happy, not always being pessimistic. They have 8 elderly Care Homes and Housing for the elderly. They even have a Holiday Centre for the Elderly to let them have a lot of fun there. Their elderly Care Homes are mostly in the public estates in the southern part of Hong Kong because public estates have more elderly who need to care by others than other places.
If we want to help the elderly, we can join the volunteer jobs to give a hand to Helping Hand for helping in caring the weak people.
Children's Heart Foundation was developed by a group of parents and

1994. Their objectives is to let people understand more about
congenital heart disease and improve and bring out the development of
technology and methods to prevent defects and treat congenital heart
disease. Also, they will provide financial and psychological support
to families with children suffering from congenital heart disease.
Heart-to-heart Charity Walk is one of the most popular activities
organized by them. Since 2000, they hold this activity in autumn every
year. It helps the children with heart disease as they can do more
exercise and these activities can donate money for the Charity to help
them.
We can do a lot of things to support them. We can join the activities
that held by them. We can have donation by different ways. We can
donate through the internet, send a form to the Charity or go to some
company, such as Tai Pan Bread & Cakes Limited, to donate money
through the Donation Box. On the other hand, there is acharity sales
based on greeting cards. We can buy the card and the money will become
a charity use. Finally, the simplest way to support them is to become
a volunteer.

Animals and human being are the same. We got feeling. We will feel thirsty, hungry and pain. We can’t torture them because we’re difficult to talk to them. Animals are same as us. They also want to have care, protection and respect from us. Their aim is “To promote kindness to animals, to protect their health and welfare, to prevent cruelty and through education, to inspire in the community a deep respect for life so that all living creatures may live together in harmony.”
They are trying to help all the animals. They’ll collect and rescue of abandoned, sick and injured animals. They’ll investigate complaints of cruelty. They‘ll accept the unwanted pets to slove the stray problem and animal suffering. They’ll promote the message “ Be responsible pet ownership and animal welfare issues.
They got four activities to do with saving animals. You have a chance to adopt the unwanted animals, you can adopt them until they pass away. They can teach you how to feed and play with the dogs, cats or some other kind of animals.
We can join the plan of adopting animals or we can join the charity walk to raise money, we can join a monthly donating plan too. If you join this, you can save 6-7 unwanted animals per year. At least we can treat our pet as good as we can and treat them like your friends.

Every year, this charity would some activities to let other to pay attention on what they are doing or promoting. They have held a activity was about having a walk in Hong Kong Disney Land together with their dogs, so that master and their dogs can have a meaningful memories.
What can we do to support this charity is to adopt some animals, give them a home, protect them and respect them. Also, we can donate money to this charity, so that they can give more animals a home, food, toys and keep them healthy. The Hong Kong Society for the Blind is a charity which provides some services to help the people which have difficulties on looking things. The Hong Kong Society for the blind also helps them to gain an equal world, so the people with visual injury will not be isolated by the society.

The Hong Kong Society for the Blind also held many activities, like Carnival cum Charity Sale 2009 and Flag Day. All activities were successfully held.
Since there are many people have problems of watching, they start to think of create an equal world to them, at last, The Hong Kong Society for the Blind was "born". Hong Kong Red Cross is a famous charity and has a long history. It was formed in 1950. They want everyone in the world can respect and protect one’s life and dignity, willing to help the others. They want to help improve the lives of the vulnerable people. Because of these, they have three missions for themselves. They are `protect human life ’ , `care for the health of the vulnerable’ and `respect human dignity’. Because of their mission and values, they provide much service for us including blood transfusion service, psychological service and tracing service. Furthermore, this year , they had organized many events. They organized first aid courses for the people. On October, they organized `Donor Award Ceremony’. They gave award for over hundred donors. This event is a new event and they have never organized before. On 5th December, there is an event called ` Tai Po 5 Stars Health & Safety Carnival Community Health Promotion Day 2010’. They will promote some information about health. If you interested in this event, you can join it for free.

They also lost there home, friends, all the things that are important for them. Hong Kong Red Cross helps them to build their home and give the things that are important to them such as food and clothes.
There are many poor people around the world. The people did not have food to eat. Some of them even worse. They did not have clothes to wear. If there are no people to help them, they may die very soon. Lucky, Hong Kong Red Cross helps the people there.
This charity also have blood donation. The blood donation can help the people all over the world. If the people need that type of blood and your blood’s type is same as him or her, you may even save him or her life.

After the natural disaster lots of the victims lost a lot of things, such as family, money, place where they live, food and the clothes etc. Hong Kong Red Cross is to help to build their house, give them food to eat, give some place for them to sleep.

The activities hold during the year are they have a course which free first aid training course for hearing and speech impaired, also learning first aid together to save lives. Most of the activities are free for the people. If we want to support Hong Kong Red Cross we can donate the money to them and be the volunteer of Red Cross to help with them.

Everyone can look around this wonderful world which is a good opportunity given by the God. However, some of the people have some problems on their eyes. That’s why they can’t look at how this world is wonderful. Fortunately, The Hong Kong Society for the Blind can provide a helping hand to them. In fact, The Hong Kong Society for the Blind is a government subvented voluntary agency which established in 1956.Their beliefs is to provide services to the blind and hope to build up an equal path for the blind to join the same things as normal people.
ReplyDeleteThis charity is trying to give out some opportunities to train the blind. So that they can be familiar with the society and can work in our society as well. They will also help the blind to strive for some community facilities. Therefore, it can let the blinds to live more safety.
This year, The Hong Kong Society for the Blind has provided several of activities for the blind to participate. It including: White Cane Day Celebrate Activity-‘’Together We Cook’’ which provide a chance for the blind to learn to how to cooperate with others. Also, they have an activity called’’ Audio descriptive Movie Show for the Visually Impaired at AMC’’ which can let them feel how interesting watching movie is.
I think everyone in the world can help this charity. We can be the volunteer to help this charity for organizing the activities or go out with the blinds. It can let them feel like having the life just like the normal people. However, if we don’t have much time to be a volunteer, we can also donate money to the charity for supporting the blinds.

SPCA is a charity that is care about the animals. The members are the entire volunteers. It is difficult to manage a charity. It is because they cannot earn money but they need to use money for helping animals. They just have very little support from the government. Although it is very hard to manage a charity, SPCA manages it very good.
ReplyDeleteThey think that animals and human are also living creatures. We also have feeling. They think we are all fair but someone does not like the animals. They hurt the animals or leave the animals away so SPCA receives the animals, which are no master or help the wildlife that is in danger.
Their belief is protecting the animals and do not let them hurt. On the other hand, they want human and animals can live together.
We can know SPCA easily. It is because in the news, we can see them helping the animals.
They have many activities. They have some charity sales to earn money for help animals and Animal Sponsorship Program and so on.
We can do something to support SPCA. We can donate money to them. If we see some animals that are in danger, we should find them.

The beliefs of SPCA are stay kind to the animal, don't maltreatthe animals, we should live with the animals peacefully and harmony. Also, we should respect the animals, their level should be as fair as us.
ReplyDeleteThey are trying to rescue the abandoned, hurt or sick animals, do some desexing surgery to cats and dog.
They promote the responsibilty of the pet' s master and the welfare of the pet to the public yo raise awareness of these social problems.
They held SPCA (HK) x Hill's Second Chance for Love Phase III, Animal Sponsorship Programme, SPCA Family Wag 'N' Walk to Save Animals 2010 @ Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, etc during the year.
We can join a monthly donation programme or animal sponsorship programme to support SPCA. All these things can help the lonely, hurt and homless pet. People can only donate money or bring them home to keep, but all you need is caring and love.
